What it is This script lets you put a form on your web page that your visitors can use to contact you. It can be configured to send a fully editable reply and handle multiple recipients. You can even change the colors or use a .css file so as to match your site's look. All setup is done through as easy to use web interface, so you want have to mess around with a text editor.
Why you want it With this script, your page will have a much more professional look than a simple e-mail link can provide. Visitors to your page will be able to contact you immediately, even if they don't have e-mail software installed on the computer that they're using. It also keeps your e-mail address off of the page where it could be harvested by spambots, reducing the number of unwanted commercial e-mail.
Features
Instead of using a text editor to modify variables in the script all customization is done through an easy to use web page. You will not need a basic knowledge of programming just to make this script work.
Allows you to add multiple recipients, giving your visitors a way to contact multiple people associated with your web site, so you won't need to install multiple instances of the script just because you don't work alone.*
Can be configured to send an automatic response, giving your visitors confirmation that their message was sent. This response is fully customizable, and can include special information such as the date or time the message was sent, what message was sent, et cetera. You can even have different responses for different recipients.**
All colors are customizable to match your web site's look, so it won't look out of place. You can even use a .css file if you choose to do so.
Can be configured to send a carbon copy of all messages to an address.***
Can be set to verify that an e-mail address looks valid before sending the information, reducing anonymous messages if you choose to do so
Does not list e-mail addresses on any web pages, preventing spambots from getting your address and ultimately reducing the number of unwanted e-mails received.
As of version 2.0, will mail any input submitted to the form -- making it quick and easy to customize to your needs. See the demo below.
*Limited to a maximum of five recipients in free version **Only one response is available in the free version ***Available in pro version only.
Script demonstration The Admin page looks like this. To see what happens when a user sends a message, fill out the form below. No message will actually be sent in the demo (so feel free to use it as much as you like), and you'll see what both the recipient and the visitor would receive in their e-mail.
Note that the PHP version is a bit easier to install. If your server supports both PERL and PHP, go with the PHP version.
